A bituminous membrane studied in Vetroasfalto laboratories to meet the most demanding requirements. ECOTORCH is a brilliant performance, depending on the fact that a high-quality bituminous compound is combined with mechanically very resistant polyester reinforcement. This membrane resolves most complex problems of waterproofing - those related to modern construction technologies.
A bituminous membrane whose waterproofing compound is obtained using distilled bitumen modified with selected elastomeric polymers, which provide the compound with elongation at break up to 2000%, low temperature flexibility - 10C°. All the above properties provide Viapol Ecotorch SBS with unusual resistance to thermal shock, a major contribution to roof failure.
The finishing waterproofing layer should always be protected superficially by slate or by another type of heavy finishing, like protection coatings.
Storage
In storage, rolls must be placed vertically not to be stacked more than two levels. They should be kept in a covered area and protected from adverse weather and U.V. radiation.
Whenever the material is stored outdoors on pallets and in conditions of elevated environmental temperatures, it is necessary to make openings in the shrinkable polyethene protective covering so as to enable the circulation of air among the rolls and to prevent damage from overheating due to the “greenhouse” effect.
The handling of the rolls during loading and unloading operations must be undertaken with
Care so as not to compromise future use of the material.
Application
- A deck surface should be prepared accurately (all the incrustation and roughness removed).
- Bituminous primer ViaBit should be coated.
- The rolls should be aligned, with lap joints of at least 8,5cm.
- They should be melted with an appropriate propane torch.
- The end laps should be heated and refinished with a heated trowel.
- Plain version capsheet should be protected by either paving elements or ballasting, etc.
- Mineral finish capsheets, being self-protected by their slate chippings, do not require any additional protection.
