The 4.0 Ah Li-ion battery works with current Li-ion chargers and has a 36 minute charge time on DC18RC and DC18RD chargers and 90 minutes on DC18SD charger (chargers not included). It is lightweight, weighing no more than a 3.0 Ah Li-ion battery, has a longer run time and battery life.

Lightweight and shock-absorbing. The Li-ion range delivers 430 per cent more working capacity during its lifetime compared to Ni-Cad and is 40 per cent lighter than Ni-Mh. The Li-ion has minimal depletion of power during use or in storage over its lifetime. Multi contact terminals reduce electrical resistance and increase connection stability withstanding against vibration and ultimately ensures stable current supply to the tool.
