City Appeal For New SponsorsPreparations are just beginning for this years Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay Challenge and Cycle Event due to take place on September 7th.The Organising Committee, made up of local sponsors and supporting authorities are appealing to local businesses to join existing sponsors which include Carvers Building Supplies, Birmingham Midshires, Marstons and Brindley Autopark to sign up to become sponsors of this years event. Nicola Hughes, Internal Communications Team Leader at Birmingham Midshires, one of the major sponsors of the annual City event is supporting the campaign and encourages other local businesses to become involved. The Carver Wolverhampton Marathon provides a great opportunity for local businesses to promote their brand to thousands of people. It's a popular event and is great for the community with money being raised for local charities. The race is one of the City's most successful sporting events and Birmingham Midshires is proud to be associated with the Carver Wolverhampton Marathon for another year". The 2007 event was an outstanding success and raised £24,800 for local charities Wolverhampton Rheumatology Support Group, Wolverhampton & Midlands Counties Eye Infirmaries - League of Friends, St Anthonys Cheshire Home and the Mayoral Charity Fund who each received a cheque for £6,200 for their cause.
